Abstract

Business attention to environmental performance has exploded during the 1990s, and business school courses, MBA concentrations, and inter-college programs on the natural environment have become more common and well established. These programs and courses take various approaches, incorporating natural science, engineering, social science, the humanities and law to various degrees. During this period the nature of corporate environmental management practice has also changed. This session will explore the skills and competencies which individuals will require in the 21st century in order to be effective environmental leaders and change agents, and the implications these pose for environmental programs and courses in business schools.
