Abstract

This symposium spotlights new research on anger in organizations. It contributes to the emerging recognition of the influence of emotion on behavior, draws attention to the nonrational element within organizations and hopes to initiate dialogue about incorporating emotions such as anger into our theories and models of organizational behavior. Papers in this symposium investigate the effects of chronic anger, causes and forms of anger, and the influence of social status, as well as anger's influence on retaliatory behavior.
