This symposium will examine the question of pluralistic viewpoints on what is "high quality" academic research from both European and North American perspectives. We will examine this question by reporting some research on how journal acceptance rates vary between North American and European journals. A panel of experts from North American and Europe offer alternative explanations for these differences.
