Abstract

This All-Academy Symposium will offer members of the Academy an opportunity to hear the views of top corporate officers from four of America's most respected companies: Intel, Xerox, 3M and Motorola. These officers and their firms are working with four of our colleagues in the Academy---Robert Burgelman, Sim Sitkin, Raghu Garud, and Ken Murrell - On the development of teaching cases dealing with change initiatives undertaken within their firms. The symposium will provide members of the Academy with an opportunity to explore with these teams the process dynamics of studying change with a view towards producing cases for the classroom in addition to generating insights that support research efforts. This All-Academy Symposium kicks- off a series of individual sessions involving the case authors and their collaborators from the four firms. These sessions will explore the cases in more depth, and will appear on the program as All-Academy Sessions.
