Abstract

Nowhere do we find a more pluralistic world than in America's major cities, and nowhere do we find more opportunities for development and change. This symposium will highlight three case illustrations--Imagine Chicago, Vision Chicago, and Strategies for Youth at Risk--in which appreciative inquiry, large group processes, and other OD interventions were used to create hopeful conversations citywide that resulted in significant journeys of transformation and change. The session will also consider pathways for using OD to promote hope and cooperation in cities worldwide.
